Rear Adm. Alvin Holsey is a native of Fort Valley, Georgia and was commissioned through the Naval Reserve Officers Training Corps (NROTC) program at Morehouse College in 1988, where he received a degree in Computer Science. He earned a Master of Science in Management from Troy State University in 1995 and attended the Joint Forces Staff College in 2010. Holsey became commander, Carrier Strike Group One, June 12, 2018.  He previously served as  deputy director for Operations, National Military Commanded Center, Joint Chiefs of Staff.

Pradeep K. Khosla, an internationally renowned electrical and computer engineer, is the eighth Chancellor of the University of California, San Diego, and a Distinguished Professor.  Khosla has expanded college access and affordability for underserved populations, initiated interdisciplinary research initiatives to foster collaboration and solve societal challenges, and strengthened university and community relationships and partnerships.

Currently she serves as the inaugural Executive Director of the Bernard and Sophia Gordon Engineering Leadership Center, at UC San Diego, creating ambassadors for engineering by strengthening the leadership skills of engineers at all levels.

Alex joined NBC 7 in 2016 after working as an Emmy Award-winning producer in New York City. Prior to joining the KNSD team, he worked at MSNBC, NBC News and WNBC. He's really enjoying exploring Southern California! Alex is a native Atlantan and a graduate of Northwestern University. He is always happy to talk sports and current events.
